The Heart of Charm Springs
Nestled on the slopes of Bald Mountain in Genese, Colorado, just off the winding Beaver Brook Trail, there is a place our family simply called home: Charm Springs. A cool spring bubbles up from the earth there, life-giving and clear, drawing my grandmother and her siblings to its edge long before we ever knew its name.
From the first steps my sister and I took, we hiked that path with small feet and wide eyes, returning again and again to the same mossy stones, the same hush of pine and water.
Charm Springs was more than a place—it was a promise. It nourished our bodies and grounded our hearts in something older and kinder than any of us. Generations gathered where the water met the land, sharing laughter, secrets, and quiet reverence.
The spring remembers us all: the children who chased sunbeams through the trees, the hands that cupped the cool water, the voices that taught us to listen. In that gentle, steadfast flow, we found history, belonging, and an echo of the greater mystery that holds us together.
This enchanting place would have remained hidden if not for our great Uncle Tony Shear.
Our grandmother AKA Earth Mother taught us that the Creator had given us everything we needed. In her hands, the spring was both lesson and sacrament: the water that nourished our bodies also taught us gratitude, humility, and care for the land that sustains us.
Charm Springs is her legacy.
Through every remedy we create, we honor her teachings, the wisdom of the natural world, and the quiet healing that begins at the source.
